Walking the Wales Coast Path - Pembrokeshire - Milford Haven to Pembroke Dock
On Friday 18th August I walked 9 miles from Milford Haven to Pembroke Dock. My penultimate walk on the Pembrokeshire coastal path!
I started my day very early, and caught the 7.05am train from Gowerton to Milford Haven. I then walked to Pembroke Dock where I caught the train back to Gowerton. So no cars needed, and no transport needed between the two places either, so that made it all a lot easier.

The walk itself I knew wouldn’t be particularly coastal, and I was expecting a lot of industry, but the path did it’s best to stick to more scenic sections. However, once I arrived in Neyland, it was pavement all the way to Pembroke dock, so that was less exciting.
There were some interesting cage like structures I had to walk through to cross parts of the oil refinery, which if you don’t enjoy heights might test your nerves a little.
I felt relieved that I had already done the Pembroke Dock to Angle section, as I think it would have felt very demoralising to see how far around the other side of the estuary was still to come.
It was nice to finally glimpse the Cledauu bridge in the distance once I got closer to Neyland, and it was quite the experience to walk over it. Although it was very windy, so I didn’t linger to enjoy the view.
It was a very grey day, but luckily it didn’t actually rain at all during my walk, but you can see from the photos it was a very moody atmosphere.
You can see below my updated map of my walk so far. As you can see I just need to walk from Ceibwr Bay to Cardigan, and then Pembrokeshire will be complete! Hopefully I will have time to do that in the next couple of weeks, so watch this space.
