Walking the Wales Coast Path - Pembrokeshire - Newport to Ceibwr
Today I walked 9.5 miles from Newport to Ceibwr Bay on the Pembrokeshire Coast path. I parked my car in Moylgrove, and caught the 9.24am bus to Newport. I then rejoined the path where I had left it when I walked from Newport to Fishguard a while back, and began the walk back to my car.
The walk around to Newport sands was a lovely gentle start to the day, but it didn’t last long once past that point.
From Newport Sands to Ceibwr Bay it was a lot more up and down, and the path hugged close to the coast, and was quite challenging in parts. You can just about make out the path in some of the images, and it’s not hard to see why it was hard work in places!
The Witches Cauldron was amazing. I had seen it previously on a walk I did around Ceibwr bay back on a snowy day in January. However, it was amazing to see it again, and I even spotted a little seal swimming around in it today.
The walk got a little more gentle again as I walked round to Ceibwr bay. However, I could see the next stage of the path looming ahead, and it looks steep. I just have two walks left to go, and I’m saving Ceibwr Bay to St Dogmaels for my final walk, so I can look forward to that hill in a few weeks time.
