Walking the Wales Coast - Pembrokeshire - Newport to Fishguard

Today my friend Nia and I walked from Newport to Fishguard. A stunning 10 mile walk on the Pembrokeshire coastal path. We parked in Fishguard lower town car park, and arrived bright and early and caught the 7.50am T5 bus to Newport. The bus was really quick, and dropped us off nice and close to the coastal path to start our walk back to Fishguard.

The start of the walk in Newport.

What started as a refreshing light drizzle on a very muggy day, developed into proper rain by the second half of our walk, leaving us soaked through as we were too warm for waterproofs, but other than that it was a very enjoyable walk.

The first half to Cwm Yr Eglwys felt very quick and easy, the second half was a bit more up and down, but there were so many incredible bays along the route, and the scenery made it all worth the effort.

We had both walked Dinas head before, so we skipped that bit today.

I have gotten very lax at updating my blog with my coastal path walks, but I am going to try and do better and work through the backlog soon, as I actually only have about 5 walks remaining till I have completed the Pembrokeshire section of the Wales coast path! Which is very exciting.

Here is my current progress to date, as of 28th June 2023.
