Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo

Today we made our annual trip to Folly Farm, in Pembrokeshire. It is one of the highlights of the summer holidays for our three children, and we always have such a fun family day out.

You currently have to pre-book your tickets in advance to help manage visitor numbers, and it’s often selling out a week or so in advance. I’m not sure how we managed it, but the day we picked just happened to be really hot and sunny, which given that just yesterday there was torrential rain and thunderstorms, was definitely very lucky. However, as far as I could tell today, all of the indoor areas seem to have re-opened, so even if you don’t get so lucky with the weather there is still plenty to see and do undercover.

If you haven’t been to Folly Farm before, then you should definitely make a plan to visit. We actually used Tesco Clubcard vouchers to pay for our entry, so we were able to have a free day out, and since we visited on a Tuesday we were able to get our lunch for half price at their fab restaurant “The Hungry Farmer” using the government’s “Eat out to help out” scheme.

Spot the Spider Monkey.

There are so many animals to see, including our three children’s favourites; red pandas, sloths and penguins. I think the giraffes are my favourite though, and it’s impossible to get my husband away from the giant tortoises.

The great thing about Folly Farm, is that as well as so many animals, there are also multiple play areas that are all different and great fun for the kids, and there is also an indoor fairground with great rides, like The Carousel, Bumper Cars, and my personal favourite, The Swings. There is also a huge indoor soft play area, and some outdoor rides too, like Go Karts and a Ferris Wheel. There really is something for everyone, and so much to keep the children entertained all day long.

If you want to start planning your own day out at Folly Farm, you can find out a lot more information over on their website. But in the meantime, let all these cute animals inspire you to get booking…
