Have you ever wondered what it would be like to get married in a Castle? Well, here in Wales we have our fair share of castles, and on the 6th July 2019 Maddie and Joe got married in Cardiff Castle and it was as magical and beautiful as you might imagine.

There are so many amazing spaces in Cardiff Castle for photos; from exquisite stairs to a stunning library, and quite a few of them aren’t even open to the public, so it was such a treat to be able to see all of those amazing places and get to capture Maddie and Joe in them.

The Group Photographs

It’s always good to find a little bit of time for a few group photos, both the formal and the fun kind.

The Reception in Lower Machen, Newport

Maddie and Joe had their reception at Joe’s family home in Lower Machen, Newport. It was the most beautiful setting and such a fun reception. There was an Alice in Wonderland themed drinks station, a Piñata, a rodeo sheep (yes you read that right!) and all of the table names were different chocolates, complete with a selection of those chocolates for their guests to enjoy.

A good tip if you find yourself at a wedding with a rodeo sheep is not to bother having a go if you are wearing tight trousers. If you look closely you might just see what can happen if you don’t heed this advice.

It was so lovely to get to be a part of Maddie and Joe’s beautiful wedding at Cardiff Castle, it was such a unique and special day.
