The Year so far - Part Two

There has been a lot going on here at Our Beautiful Adventure Photography during the last 3 months, and I thought it would be good, as this second quarter comes to a close (how is it nearly July?!) to update you all on whats been going on.

Family Sessions

April was a popular month for Family Sessions, and I had so much fun capturing some really special moments and telling the stories of some wonderful people. Some old friends, and some new friends too. From launching my new Sunset sessions, to lovely beach sessions and even some sessions in my home town of Coventry. We do occasionally visit the Midlands to see family and friends, so do get in touch if you are in that area and want to know next time we will be there. Here are just a few of my favourites from those recent sessions...

Product Photography and Headshots

I also did some more Product work for the lovely Sam, from Sewing Patterns by Mrs H. I even got to visit her in her amazing studio and do some headshots for her too. Do get in touch if you are looking for some Headshots or Product Photography.

Blog Awards and Blog News

It's been a busy few months for my Blog too. I found out in April that my blog received the Highly Commended award in both the Parenting and Photography categories of the UK Blog Awards, which was amazing and I felt very honoured by that recognition. As well as writing lots of Blogs for my own website, I also contributed to my Husband's Blog piece  "How to take great photos with a rubbish camera."

Here are a few of my posts you may have missed...

Project 333

Those of you who follow me on Social Media may remember back at the start of the year I shared that I was undertaking a project 333, where for 3 months I would only wear 33 different items of clothing, footwear and even jewellery. I was intending to blog about the experience afterwards but the end of the challenge coincided with a busy month of photography work and it never happened. So I thought I would take this opportunity to just say; I survived. I actually found it really easy and enjoyable. The day after it ended I must have changed outfit 3 times trying to figure out what to wear, I was suddenly crippled with indecision when faced with so much choice. Suffice to say most stuff ended up in the charity shop pile and I am loving having a much more minimal wardrobe. Basically just wearing my favourite clothes every day.

Weddings

This second quarter has seen another Wedding, and I'm looking forward to the next couple of weddings coming up in July. Keep an eye on my Wedding page to see photos being shared. Do get in touch if you are looking for a wedding photographer, I am now taking bookings for 2018. Please do pass on my information to any friends and family who might be looking for a photographer too, I am more than happy to travel.

Education

I was very excited to be invited back to Snapshot Girls, a local group for amateur photographers, to talk about how I edit my photos. It was a great evening, and I was honoured to be invited into a local secondary school as well to give a similar talk to some Year 10 pupils. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience of photography with others so please do get in touch if you are interested in working with me and learning together.

Swansea Triathalon

I really enjoyed working with Red Media to capture some photographs of Swansea Triathlon. I've got a new found admiration for these amazing athletes, I'm pretty sure I could never do it. But it was very inspiring to watch and a privilege to be a part of it in a nice non-gruelling way ;)

Bloom

You may remember in my last update I shared about a project called Bloom. They are a charity who work with refugees, and they made a series of 6 short films about 6 refugees who are now living in Swansea. The idea behind it being to portray them in a more positive light than the media often does, and show the amazing contribution they make to Swansea now they are here. I did 6 portraits of each of the refugees and they were on exhibition in Volcano Theatre for refugee week and for the premiere of the movies. It was an amazing event and the movies were very moving and inspiring. Do get in touch if you would be interested in hosting a viewing of the films in your community, or organisation. Here are some photos from the exhibition and the 6 portraits...

Social Media

As always, I have been busy posting lots of photos and updates across social media. Be sure to follow me on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to keep up to date with all the latest news. Here are a few of my favourite personal photos from the past few months.
